Census: More than one in five children living in poverty

We are not surprised but we are disappointed at what we’ve learned in the child poverty data released today by the Census. Almost a million more children live in poverty since last year, clearly showing that while the recession is officially over, families are still struggling. Please join our campaign to help invest in American families.

Now children make up 35 percent of the poor. This number will only increase if Congress targets child programs for its budget cuts. Learn more in our press release.
