Cherished child advocate to retire
A Maine newspaper yesterday announced the retirement of one of our most cherished child advocates. Ellie Goldberg has worked tirelessly for the health and welfare of Maine children as an executive at the Maine Children’s Alliance, a Voices for America’s Children member.
Her retirement is an opportunity to look at some of the great work Ellie and others have done children. The list of victories for Maine children includes expansion of Maine’s version of the Children’s Health Insurance Program; the release of timely, important child welfare data in KIDS COUNT reports; and advocacy for school-based health clinics, among many child-friendly initiatives.
