Child advocates to next Congress: Children need government action now

Often lost in all the partisan bickering of the midterm election was the best interest of American children.  I wanted to make a statement formally welcoming the winners of the midterm elections, especially new members who will be joining us, and urging them complete the unfinished business of ensuring good outcomes for our kids.

Congress left a lot of work when adjourned for the campaign season.  Both child nutrition and federal education programs are due for a reauthorization, and states are still facing enormous budget problems.  Read my statement to learn more about what’s left to be done.
