Diet could factor into a child’s IQ

TIME recently reported on a British study that suggests a poor diet for toddlers can lead to lower IQ later on in life.  Researchers found that children who were fed mostly processed foods from a very early age had a slightly lower average IQ than children who ate healthy food. Parents answered questions on the child’s diet at ages 3, 4, 7, and 8.5, and the children were IQ tested at 8.5.

This study shows childhood nutrition is even more important than previously thought. Voices celebrated a big win recently with the reauthorization of the child nutrition program, but we still need your help later this year to campaign for more help from food stamps.
