New child report from Maine spotlights early years
Today our Maine member celebrated Infant-Toddler Awareness Day by releasing a new report on children’s school readiness. The Maine Children’s Alliance report details rising poverty levels in the state, along with other factors that could influence a child’s early years. Did you know that 47 percent of children ages 1 to 5 have not received preventative dental visits?

Maine Children’s Alliance released the report this afternoon at the state house, with the Maine Chamber of Commerce, state legislators and the Maine Children’s Growth Council in attendance. They also held a “diaper drive” at the event, collecting diapers and donations for local families in need. Keep up the good work, Maine Children’s Alliance! You can follow all the group’s work by befriending it on Facebook.
