Repealing health reform would add $230 billion to deficit
As you may know, the House is expected to vote tomorrow on a repeal of health reform. This is just a symbolic move, of course, because the Senate and the president will never go along with it. Aside from the numerous benefits and protections health care provides, it’s also important to defend for the sake of the deficit.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has estimated that repealing health reform would add $230 billion to the deficit. Although some claim to oppose health reform for the sake of the budget, clearly the facts are not on their side.
