Retailers: Help break the chain of tobacco addiction
Every day nearly 4,000 children try their first cigarette. To help combat the problem of teen smoking, the FDA has just posted guidance for retailers on tobacco policies. If your business sells cigarettes, check out the FDA’s Break the Chain of Tobacco Addiction page for resources and info.

Some new policies are detailed: a prohibition on the sale or distribution of items such as hats and t-shirts with tobacco brand names or logos; a prohibition on the sale of single cigarettes (“loosies”) or packs with fewer than 20 cigarettes; and no cigarette vending machine except in places where 18 year olds wouldn’t be allowed anyway.
