“Risky moves for at-risk children”
The Washington Post this weekend had a great op-ed about support services for at-risk children in Virginia. The governor has proposed cuts to the already paltry support for youths with mental health, emotional and behavioral problems. This is especially frustrating given that it would save only $12.5 million in a state budget of more than $16 billion.
Of course, these cuts in Virginia follow a nationwide trend of cuts in tough times. We expect many of our biggest battles this year to be fights to continue investing in kids. You can join us by following us on Facebook and Twitter.
