S.C. Lt. Gov. compares food stamp enrollees to "stray animals"
South Carolina Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer last week compared families seeking public assistance to “stray animals” one must not feed. His statement comes at a time of over 12 percent unemployment in South Carolina.
Federal child nutrition legislation may be coming this spring. If you don’t share Bauer’s views, then check back at Voices.org to learn how to voice your support stop children from going hungry.

Bauer’s statement comparing families seeking public assistance to “stray animals” one must not feed is that he is what an ugly American really sounds like. My second thought was more curious about the character of the people who heard his statement and any action they took against or in support to the statement. I wonder what poor, working poor and unemployed families receiving public assistance that voted for him, think of his comment? My last thought was, Thank God our Lt. Gov. in Tennessee didn’t say it.
