Watch: Child advocates make their case in 2012

With Election Day fast approaching, our advocates are fighting to make children’s issues part of the discussion. Families are still struggling in the wake of the recession, after all, and more than 1 in 5 kids lives in poverty. With such a large number of kids at risk, why should children’s issues be such a small part of the discussion?

That’s why our two members in New York have joined with other child advocates to launch their VOTE for KIDS campaign. Together they’re educating policymakers and the people about how kids are doing in New York and how we can make sure they don’t fall through the cracks.  Watch an interview with some of the leaders of the VOTE for KIDS campaign online!

Also check out this fun video from Colorado Children’s Campaign and some of its state allies for children. They ask the candidates the tough questions on behalf of kids — from kids. In the classroom and at the playground, these kids ask the candidates everything from hard education questions to “Does he like dinosaurs?” Check it out on YouTube, and see all of our Colorado member’s advocacy here.
