Join the Network
Voices for America’s Children speaks out for kids at the federal, state and local levels, and you can join us!
While formal membership is limited to organizations that meet specific membership criteria, individuals can also connect to our network.
Membership Overview
With the challenges facing child policy advocates today, impact means being as strategic, nimble, sustainable and powerful as possible. Yet, the recession has been a game changer in many ways. Scarce government resources mean that policymakers often force multi-issue advocates to choose between critical needs for children. Funders and potential funders of advocacy efforts were hit hard, too. In the current environment, funding is more difficult and advocacy is more challenging.
Building and supporting the efforts of multi-issue child advocacy coalitions and organizations is Voices’ priority. We listen to member organizations and deliver the information, tools, and connections they need to increase their impact in their states. We’re poised to provide prospective members with the technical assistance, peer mentoring, tools and opportunities that work to help them meet Voices’ membership criteria so they can join a network that successfully elevates children’s needs in critical policy discussions and deliberations at all levels of government.
Our Members
Multi-issue, nonpartisan, child advocacy organizations comprise the heart of Voices for America’s Children’s nationwide network. Members of the network contribute to each other’s success through collegial sharing of ideas, success stories, promising practices, advocacy models, fund development approaches and action strategies. In addition, members collaborate to develop network-wide policy agendas, communications plans and mobilization strategies to influence federal legislation while also sharing their experiences and expertise to fuel each other’s state and local level efforts to change policy in favor of children.
Voices weaves and supports a network that strengthens its members by offering services, technical assistance, peer mentoring, products and learning opportunities tailored to the particular needs of multi-issue child advocacy organizations. Learn more about the benefits of membership here.
